Concepts in Fusion

Fusion is designed as a multi-dimensional acquisition, processing and visualization software platform. As such it must control complex instrumentation to: illuminate a specimen from a suitable light source; capture the resulting light field; and scan the specimen to reveal 3D structure and distribution of specifically labelled features of the specimen. To organize and control the various properties of the instrumentation we have created some control patterns which are intended to simplify the imaging tasks.

It is therefore useful to have an understanding of the key concepts shown below.
